Job Summary:

At NOHO HOME by Jalene Kanani, we are on a mission to create connection through our exquisite home decor, travel accessories, and giftables. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Director of Market Expansion to join our small Hawai'i based business and lead our efforts in growing and expanding into new markets both in the US and Internationally. This role requires a strategic thinker with existing relationships and a strong network within the industry. The roll will have P&L responsibility for contract and wholesale channels, focusing on our diverse product categories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wholesale Market Expansion Strategy: Craft and execute comprehensive Wholesale market expansion strategies to enter and grow in new markets, aligning with our company's overall vision and goals.
  • Network Utilization: Leverage your existing relationships and networks to identify and secure new business opportunities in target markets, fostering connections with our brand.
  • P&L Management: Oversee P&L for contract and wholesale channels, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded, while maintaining our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Contract Market Development: Focus on the contract hospitality market, working closely with interior designers, purchasing agents, hotel brands, and owners to establish and grow business relationships that resonate with our brand values.
  • Sales & Partnerships: Identify, negotiate, and establish partnerships with key stakeholders, including distributors, retailers, and other potential partners who share our passion for exceptional design and quality.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs in new markets, particularly for home decor, travel accessories, and giftables.
  • Business Development: Drive business development initiatives, including identifying potential clients, preparing proposals, and closing deals that align with our brand's mission and vision.
  • Brand Representation: Represent Noho Home by Jalene Kanani at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and establish key connections that support our growth.
  • Sales and Marketing: Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies that reflect our brand's unique story and values, driving market expansion efforts.
  • Public Relations: Manage public relations efforts to promote Noho Home by Jalene Kanani’s brand and products in new markets, sharing our story and values with a broader audience.
  • Product Road Mapping: Work closely with product development to create and execute product roadmaps that align with our market expansion goals and reflect our commitment to quality and innovation.
  • Team Leadership: Eventually build and lead a high-performing team dedicated to market expansion efforts, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and connection.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment and support for market expansion initiatives.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports on market expansion progress, financial performance, and key metrics to the executive team, keeping everyone informed and aligned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in market expansion, business development, or a similar role within the home decor, travel accessories, giftables, or related industry.
  • Network: Proven track record of leveraging existing relationships and networks to achieve business growth, with a passion for creating connections.
  • P&L Responsibility: Demonstrated experience in managing P&L, with a strong understanding of financial principles and metrics, ensuring sustainable growth.
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a creative and innovative approach.
  • Sales and Marketing: Proven experience in developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies that reflect our brand's values and mission.
  • Public Relations: Experience in managing public relations efforts to enhance brand visibility and share our story.
  • Product Roadmapping: Ability to work with product development teams to create and execute effective product roadmaps.
  • Small Business Environment: Willingness to work in a small business environment, embracing the challenges and opportunities it presents, and contributing to our close-knit team culture.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to support market expansion efforts and create connections worldwide.
