Summary

The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently navigating an assigned delivery route and ensuring customers receive accurate, on time orders. Customers include a mix of restaurant, retail and wholesale distribution customers. Proper licensing, adherence to safety standards and a dedication to customer service are necessary for success in this role.

This position includes variable rate compensation should the driver complete all deliveries in an efficient and timely manner, and also provides opportunity for increased compensation through new and same store sales growth. The Delivery Driver position reports directly to the distribution manager, and works collaboratively with the warehouse and the customer service associates within our home office to ensure the best possible experience and product for all customers.


This opportunity is working 4- 10 hour days a week no weekends. Starting pay is $22 an hour.


Essential Functions and Key Position Accountabilities

  • Accurately review and load customer orders for delivery
  • Adhere to prescribed safety standards when loading, driving and unloading product
  • Efficiently navigate city and state roads to ensure timely customer delivery; the best drivers will be measured (and rewarded) for completing all sales in the shortest time and mileage manageable
  • Grow sales at existing customers as well as prospect new store sales within designated route coverage
  • Stock and maintain retail and grocery inventory as needed
  • Represent La Mexicana to the best and highest standard possible; we take care of our customers
  • Adapts to changes in work assignments and environment, is willing to assume additional projects, responsibilities and learn new processes



Minimum Qualifications


EXPERIENCE

Previous experience driving and managing commercial distribution in the food industry
