We are recruiters with 25 years of experience. We are recruiting for a small (30 employee) successful pharmaceutical packaging company.

SUMMARY

  • As the Senior Production planner, you are responsible for accuracy of data and setting up the correct parameter in our ERP software called “DBA manufacturing, Next Generation” to make sure we always have ready to go finished goods for our customers as we ship to them based on “Ship to Order” methodology.
  • As the Senior Buyer and the key member of our Operations Team you are responsible for sourcing of raw materials and components, negotiating pricing, placement and maintenance of purchase orders based on DBA requirements, monitoring vendor performance metrics and ensuring that the established inventory levels are maintained on hand.
  • This position works closely with internal and external partners to ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained by meeting delivery expectations. You would develop, implement, and maintain continuous process improvement to the overall function.
  • Your goal is to assist the company in producing Quality Products on time and within budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with customers and suppliers to make sure DBA parameters are set up as such that there is an adequate supply of parts available to support the production schedules.
  • Plan and schedule production workorders based on DBA scheduling output to ensure timely delivery of orders to customers.
  • Review DBA reports to communicate with ownership on any challenges, issues, or shortages prior to them becoming problematic.
  • Preparation and placement of all Purchase Orders for Production based on report generated from DBA.
  • Purchase operating supplies, raw material and equipment as required.
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure and negotiate the best pricing and shipping times.
  • Collection and analysis of cost performance data from actual work orders generated by DBA.
  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key control metrics to eliminate any surprises.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years and more hands and detail experience working in ERP systems and its routine maintenance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in purchasing with a background in a high-volume low-cost raw materials environment.
  • Past working experience in a highly regulated industry such as medical, electronic, or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Strong experience with Windows applications including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to set up the ERP system to generate actionable reports to minimize the use of excel sheets to conduct business.
  • Strong logical reasoning and mathematics knowledge required to set up and maintain DBA.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor.

  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively, written and verbal as well as ability to work with people across the internal organization, customers and suppliers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be physically able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Requires working at a computer and some filing. Must have the ability to walk extended distances as needed.
