Network and Security Support Engineer (100% Remote)

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Network and Security Support Engineer to provide critical day 2 support and troubleshooting within our dynamic IT environment. This is a 100% remote position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day 2 support and advanced troubleshooting for networking and security infrastructure.
  • Verify that traffic and return traffic are reaching the firewall, diagnosing issues such as web pages not loading, and performing packet capture analysis to assist users in finding solutions.
  • Support and maintain Azure networking components, including Application Gateways.
  • Troubleshoot and support firewalls, with a strong focus on Firepower, Azure, or Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Provide support for F5 WAF implementations, resolving issues such as non-working URLs.
  • Work independently to manage and resolve support tickets, alleviating workload from senior engineers.
  • Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, product managers, and other technical teams to ensure operational efficiency and security.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of troubleshooting and support processes within the team.

Required Skills and Experience:

  1. Azure Networking (App Gateways):
  • Proven experience in managing and troubleshooting Azure networking components.
  • Ability to configure and optimize Application Gateways within Azure.
  1. Firewall Support and Troubleshooting:
  • Proficiency in day 2 support and troubleshooting of Firepower, Azure, or Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience in diagnosing and resolving firewall-related issues impacting network traffic and application accessibility.
  1. F5 Web Application Firewall (WAF):
  • Recent hands-on experience supporting F5 WAF implementations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues like non-working URLs and provide effective solutions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong ability to read and analyze packet captures to identify and resolve network issues.
  • Security-first mindset, ensuring all troubleshooting and support actions adhere to best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical issues and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, managing workload efficiently.
