My client is a leading Plastics, Packaging, and Containers Manufacturing company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. With a strong commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability, we have established ourselves as a prominent player in the industry. As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled Labor and Employment Attorney to join our legal team.

Position Overview: We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Labor and Employment Attorney to provide comprehensive legal support and guidance on all matters related to labor and employment law. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, mitigating legal risks, and fostering a positive work environment for our employees.


Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to management on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including but not limited to: Employment discrimination and harassment, Wage and hour compliance, Employee benefits and compensation, Workplace safety and health regulations, Employee relations and discipline, Employment agreements and contracts, Employee terminations and layoffs
  2. Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and procedures to ensure legal compliance and alignment with company objectives.
  3. Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of changes in labor and employment laws and regulations, and advise management on potential impacts and strategies.
  4. Represent the company in administrative proceedings, arbitrations, and other legal disputes related to labor and employment matters.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, to develop and implement proactive strategies for managing labor and employment risks and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  6. Provide training and education to management and employees on legal compliance and best practices in labor and employment law.
  7. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in labor and employment law, and proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.


Qualifications:

  1. Experience in the plastics, packaging, and containers manufacturing preferred.
  2. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  3. Admission to the State Bar of Georgia and in good standing.
  4. Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, preferably in a corporate and/or law firm environment.
  5. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws and regulations.
  6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  8. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  9. Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
