The Carrier Sales is responsible for sourcing and procuring carrier services and relationships, using on the spot sales and negotiation skills while always focusing on growing long-term relationships and the financial goals of the organization. This role excels at problem solving, communication, and teamwork in a fast paced, high energy and competitive work environment.


Position Responsibilities

  • Develop a network of carrier relationships to effectively support our sales team and customers freight needs
  • Find carriers for current and future full truckload opportunities
  • Utilize internal/external resources to make informed buying decisions
  • Strong negotiation skills to help minimize our transportation spend
  • Continual sourcing of new carrier partners and existing underutilized partners
  • Daily communication with carriers to determine capacity availability and negotiate transportation rates
  • Ability to multi-task and grow a book of carrier relationships outside of what they are currently doing in terms of GP/Load count
  • Understand current market trends, seasonality, and industry updates
  • Initiate & Monitor New Carrier Onboarding Process
  • Carrier Packet Follow Up


Qualifications


  • 2+ years of carrier procurement experience
  • Have a current network of carrier relationships and are a hunter for new relationships
  • Driven and competitive nature
  • Fast-paced and able to multitask in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to take verbal/written instruction and execute with confidence
  • Impressive negotiation skills
  • Team player who can also produce independent results
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent experience
