Principal Accountabilities:
- Reliability Improvement: Analyze equipment performance data to identify areas for improvement and develop and implement strategies to enhance reliability and reduce downtime.
- Preventative Maintenance: Design and oversee the execution of preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
- Project Management: Lead and manage engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by researching and implementing best practices, new technologies, and innovative solutions to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance, production, and quality assurance teams to develop and implement reliability and maintenance strategies.
- Training and Development: Provide training and support to maintenance personnel on reliability best practices and new equipment or technologies.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Serve as a mentor and coach to mechanics, guiding them in root cause analysis and helping them diagnose and resolve issues accurately and efficiently.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations into equipment failures, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and teaching best practices to the maintenance team.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and project progress.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Resource Management: Efficiently manage resources, including budget, time, and materials, to achieve project and reliability goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in a reliability engineering role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in root cause analysis and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing engineering projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and coach maintenance personnel, particularly in root cause analysis and diagnostic techniques.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to non-technical team members.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safety and Compliance: Thorough understanding of industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and climbing as necessary to perform job duties.
