We are looking for a Manager, Data Engineering to provide leadership to software engineering activities that support the ongoing development and delivery of technology solutions to our customers. The Manager, Data Engineering leads a team responsible for building complex, data-intensive healthcare, warehousing, reporting, and analytic solutions from product concept to production deployment.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and mentor a team of Data Engineers and Analysts
  • Manage support case queues, resource allocation, project timelines, and reporting
  • Analyze business needs and align solutions to support i2i Population Health Provider, Hospital and Payer data architecture and strategy
  • Oversee the development of well-engineered C#, and T-SQL code via accepted software design principles, patterns, and practices
  • Lead delivery-focused data projects ensuring the team meets timely deliverables
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with other departments to enhance collaboration
  • Ensure the definition of standard and best practices for all current and new frameworks are followed
  • Assist with development, code reviews, deploying, and validating the technical solution when needed

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology or equivalent field; Master’s degree a plus (or deep and wide industry experience in lieu of a degree)

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in people management and leading successful teams in business analytics/software engineering
  • Minimum 4 years of software development, implementation and support required
  • Healthcare and/or software product company software experience is preferred
  • Agile (Scrum, Lean/Kanban, or Lean Start-up) exposure in a data engineering team is beneficial
  • Experience with FHIR/HL7/C-CDA, messaging, and EMPI preferred
  • Experience with multiple EHR and PM systems (e.g. NextGen, eCW, Cerner, CPSI, Athena, etc.)
  • Experience with automated database testing, test data management in a healthcare setting, continuous delivery/integration, automated build/deploy pipelines for data components, modern distributed version control systems such as Git, including database versioning conventions, branch and merge strategies, etc. is a strongly recommended


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years T-SQL along with Microsoft SQL Server knowledge from a data warehousing/reporting perspective (or deep and wide experience with Oracle, Postgres, etc. is acceptable)
  • Proficiency in communicating with a variety of stakeholders and customers is a must
  • Ability to influence and work effectively with other departments
