Job Summary

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing multiple automation projects. You will lead project teams, develop project plans, monitor progress, and ensure that projects are completed within budget and on schedule. Your role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, including clients, team members, and upper management, to ensure project objectives are met and expectations are exceeded. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.

Duties:

  • Oversees the planning, execution, and completion of various medium to large sized system integration projects for landfill leachate and gas, along with supporting wastewater treatment plants to ensure optimal efficiency, compliance, and environmental sustainability.
  • Coordinate project teams, assigning tasks, and providing guidance and support to team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Conduct regular project meetings, including kick-off meetings, status updates, and post-project reviews, to ensure alignment and collaboration among team members.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate project performance and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices to enhance project delivery processes.
  • Implementing out of the box solutions, and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Will coach and mentor less-experienced team members and act as team leader on systems projects.
  • Work closely with the SCADA networking and cyber security counterparts to ensure projects meet required standards.
  • Coordinating with non-WM teams to manage troubleshooting issues with SCADA systems.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study.
  • 5 years of project management experience required. An additional four years of related experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree and at least five years of project management experience including three years of work with wastewater control systems.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate and/or Agile Certification.
  • Operational Technology experience including networking and cyber security integration.
  • Managing multiple projects, in various stages of the SDLC, at one time. Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology. Agile Project Management methodologies.
  • Leading infrastructure-related projects such as network upgrades, hardware procurement, core Technology application deployments (such as email upgrades), and deployment and/or facility build-out.
  • Aiding in definition of systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
  • Presenting, communicating and articulating effectively to all levels of the organization (including technical and non-technical audiences, Senior Leadership, VPs and C-Level Executives).
  • Ability to interface with senior-level stakeholders in both Information Technology and the business units to partner on project scope, risk mitigation and issue resolution.
  • Understanding all aspects of the IT Governance and reporting.
  • Ability to create, own and present executive level presentations or communications.
  • Understanding of edge networking fundamentals/techniques
  • Knowledge of networking segmentation fundamentals, including firewalls
