As an Electrical Controls Engineer at Taikisha USA, you'll be working within a cross-functional team to conceptualize, engineer, and execute state-of-the-art paint finishing systems for top industries including automotive, heavy trucking, aerospace, and more. With projects ranging from $10K to $100M, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact, delivering effective and profitable engineering solutions that exceed our customers' expectations.


What you'll do:

  • Develop bid specification for field installation, panel build, and equipment purchases.
  • Meticulously evaluate supplier and subcontractor deliverables to ensure top-notch quality.
  • Apply your knowledge of electrical design standards like NEC, NFPA 79, and NFPA70E to design control panels (hardware) by
  • Specifying and sizing all required components for control panels;
  • Selecting and sizing enclosures, including performing heat load calculations;
  • Marking up existing drawing sets for CAD detailing.
  • Design, develop, and test software using your knowledge of PLC and HMI based logic such as Allen Bradley and Siemens.
  • Start up and commission systems through:
  • On site testing and validation of new and retrofitted controls systems
  • Debugging electrical wiring issues
  • Perform system check out of all I/O, alarms/faults and modes of operations
  • Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including operation and maintenance manuals, network diagrams, and other necessary documentation.
  • Provide training to operators on system functionality, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to clarify project scopes and coordinate engineering approvals, serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout the process.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to project teams, as well as external suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring seamless execution of projects.


What you bring to the table:

An electrical engineering degree coupled with proficiency in PLC & HMI programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting across major platforms such as Allen Bradley and Siemens.

  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time to project sites nationwide to provide onsite expertise, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Self-motivated individual with a high level of resourcefulness.
  • Experience using, understanding, and documenting schematics and design notes.
  • Experience with programming and engineering of Ovens, Air Supply Houses, Pretreatment and E-Coat Systems preferred.
  • Experience setting up and configuring VFDs preferred.
