BASIC PURPOSE: Responsible for ensuring our teams are executing on our strategic visions. Oversee training standards and hiring procedures. Analyze and improve organizational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency. Manage the digital infrastructure and production processes with a key understanding of digital photo systems and IT requirements. Oversee revenue operations across the NCL Fleet. Formulate business plans and work with the department to excel business practices, streamline procedures and maximize revenue opportunities. Expand the onboard business in line with the company vision and objectives.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee operations and training functions, creating and performing onboard training modules as required and create staff competences plan.
  • Work with shoreside personnel department on new hire process and future succession plans. Responsible for scheduling Photo Managers, Assistant Managers and Lab Technicians.
  • Research and apply new technologies that will enable the department to deliver new guest experiences that increase the value of our products and increase revenue.
  • Partner with Information Technology to ensure necessary systems needed to make the product operational, while looking for new and more efficient systems that improve revenue and productivity.
  • Manage photo revenue operations to ensure maximum opportunity and quality of service. Monitor operating costs to stay within budget and work with the shipside and shore side management teams to ensure that all standard operating procedures, policies and directives are being implemented and adhered to as directed.
  • Manage Fleet Equipment Inventory and repair process. Working with vendors and IT to resolve and trouble shoot equipment and system related problems.
  • Work Closely with Photo Operations Director on New Build and Refurbishment projects.
  • Oversees policy and procedures database.
  • Participate with shore side management in the decision-making process and implementation of all businesses impacting photo operations and revenue creation.
  • Manage day to day photo operation by obtaining continuous feedback from both shipside and shore side management.
  • Communicate regularly with onboard photo teams to ensure operations, support, revenue and targets. Implement systems, policies, procedures and practices and aids colleagues and team members to ensure an efficient operation to reach forecasted budgets. Review photo /retail performance-assuring compliance with set procedures.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:


EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field of study or any equivalent relevant work experience, training and skills.


EXPERIENCE: 5 years managing a high-volume photography business. Along with experience with retail and revenue operations and/or cruise line management. Supervisory experience and training skills required.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced level skill in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photo Shop, Lightroom, ProSelect and respective inventory management program.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to manage remote team. Ability to complete tasks on time and within budget.
  • Innovative problem solver to help develop operations and make sound recommendations. Ability to transform both qualitative and quantitative data into actionable reports.
  • Detailed working knowledge of all working areas of the onboard cruise ship culture, onboard photo operations including; photo & retail operations, digital image capture operations, branding procedures, rules and regulations.
  • A thorough understanding of how to implement all new procedures and be pro-active in monitoring all areas of quality control.
  • Ability to travel for extensive periods to set-up photo /retail revenue operations for existing fleet and new builds, which includes staff training, marketing and brand compliance (travel approximately 30%).
