In this position, you will be responsible for all aspects of pizza production including safety, food safety, quality, throughput, and efficiency. Working with the Vice President of Operations and other departmental managers, the Plant Manager will lead improvements to the plant in safety, quality, and efficiency.

Position Overview/Essential Functions

  • Responsibilities include all aspects of our pizza production: safety, quality control, process control, standard operating procedures, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance management of the production leadership team.
  • Lead team cross-training and development, constantly expand skills and experience of team through training and job rotation.
  • Ability to work autonomously, within a team environment and possess confident decision making on very important matters.
  • Must be comfortable with working employees at all levels, outside vendors, contractors, etc.
  • Must embrace the concept of change management with a progress and positive attitude.
  • Solves problems through reliance on ingenuity and resourcefulness, within a budget through both short-term and long-term methods.
  • Close operations of COGS with the teams to ensure materials, packaging, and labor are in line or below standards.
  • Manage the performance of the plant through the KPIs and action plans.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of the plant throughout each shift.
  • Supports the proper maintenance and operation of equipment.
  • Ensures the production schedules are efficient and the make the best use of changeovers and headcount.
  • Provides coaching, development, and disciplinary decisions with support of Human Resources and team leadership.
  • Promotes and ensures that the facility and all that are in the facility are acting and working in the safest manners and conditions possible.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year BA or BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a plant manager, production manager, or similar managerial role.
  • Industrial Food or Bakery manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong team building experience, interpersonal skills, communication, and coaching skills are essential.
  • Maintaining the plant in superior status with our SQF, Organic certifiers, and private label auditors cannot be over emphasized.
  • Ability direct and drive continuous improvement through the teams.
  • Background in Lean/Six Sigma a plus.
  • Flexibility and ability to work across shifts and off hours when needed.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office.
  • Possess a courteous and considerate demeanor, with ability and desire to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management techniques.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Skills in advance planning, organizing, and supervising.
  • Skills in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, problem-solving, and decision making.
