PURPOSE
This role is the first leadership position as part of our brand marketing team. It will be in charge of creating brand metrics and a process around brand management. It’s as much about collaboration as it is about taking initiative. This highly collaborative role will work hand in hand with the founders, sales team and our creative team to create a best-in-class marketing mix for a lifestyle bev alc brand. The fast paced and start-up nature of our work requires nimbleness and quick thinking about how to be resourceful and find unique solutions to brand & trade marketing.
We are seeking an experienced Brand Manager for an exciting, fast-moving, unconventional spirits company. This role is an essential part of managing a growing business and nurturing the evolution of the company into an integrated lifestyle brand. The Brand Manager will assist in all matters concerning the brand, including trade marketing, distributor management & support, product launches, overall business and marketing strategy, managing brand elements, the brand story and development of marketing materials and campaigns. The role incorporates strategic planning, project management, business management, creative consumer marketing and strategic design. This position will bring forward best in class marketing practices to build brand loyalty, create intrigue and excitement for the products and raise overall awareness and affinity for our brand.
We are looking for a charismatic team member, someone who is strong in creative strategy and business fundamentals. They have experience leading collaborative teams, putting processes in place where there are none and advocating for ideas and processes while holding the outcome lightly. Ideally, they have experience in a fast- paced growth environment with a consumer brand or alcohol brand. Their experience includes managing business assets alongside the creative vision for the brand and they have worked with businesses of varying sizes.
Major Responsibilities
- Strategic brand management: blend analytics and creativity to build out a brand strategy that builds on the strengths of the brand and supports growth. Keeps an eye on industry trends and competitive activity to ensure the brand is best positioned in the evolving marketplace.
- Business Analysis: review sales and POS data to generate insights on brand strengths and opportunities. Sets key KPI’s and tracks the business against those metrics for short- and long-term strategies.
- Distributor Management: Oversees key communication with distributors including GSM decks, strategic sales & marketing initiatives, quarterly programming, and more.
- Work with sales leadership, key on and off premise strategic accounts, internal field sales, and distributor personnel, to develop marketing programs and identify opportunities to expand the business.
- Team Management: Oversee internal marketing manager with day-to-day responsibility of consumer engagement including CRM & social channels.
- Agency Management: build agency stack based on annual budget and internal/external needs, directing partners in areas such as (digital, media, creative, social, etc.) to bring brand plans to life and keep the brand and company goals front and center in each campaign and conversation.
- Strategic Planning: assist in developing marketing strategies that support the goals of the company and strengthen the long-term brand longevity.
- Budget Management: tracks marketing spends to target and reports on marketing KPI’s as well as budget spend per initiative.
- Consumer Advocate: holds the consumer voice and point of view throughout campaign development, manages necessary consumer insight work and applies learnings into future campaign work. Continuously monitors consumer conversations and engagement to ensure relevancy.
- Creative Asset Management: works alongside the creative team to make sure that internal & external facing brand assets are on brand and best reflect the current brand voice and creative aesthetic.
- Digital Strategist: This role works across all consumer touchpoints, including digital and outlines a strategy that delivers on the business objectives while also staying true to the brand ideals to think differently and be a lifestyle vs a product brand.
- Plan, negotiate, and oversee Key Experiential & Trade Activations
- Visit key markets in support of market blitzes, new product launches, surveys, etc. and report brand and competitive findings as well as any market driven recommendations to leadership.
- Weekly, Quarterly, and Annual Reporting to Leadership & investment teams ensuring strategy and projects are on track, gaining support and guidance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing
- 3+ years' brand management or marketing experience
