Job Title:       Associate Attorney

Description:  Gomez & Martinez, LLC is an immigration law firm located in Lawrence, MA, seeking a

                         dedicated Staff Attorney. The candidate will represent clients in immigration court cases and other

family immigration matters, demonstrating strong advocacy, legal research and writing skills. This role requires a collaborative team player with a commitment to provide high-quality legal services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Client Representation:

o  Represent clients before EOIR, BIA, USCIS, and NVC.

o  Handle cases related to family immigration, removal defense, asylum, and other immigration-related matters

o  Prepare and file motions, briefs, and other legal documents

·        Case Management:

o  Conduct thorough legal research and analysis

o  Develop case strategies and provide legal advice to clients

o  Maintain client files and case management systems

o  Ensure timely submission of applications, petitions, and other legal documents to the appropriate government agencies

·        Client Interaction:

o  Conduct client interviews and consultations

o  Provide updates and communicate case statuses to clients regularly

o  Address client concerns and answer questions related to immigration laws and processes

·        Team Collaboration:

o  Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and other staff members to ensure efficient case management and client service

o  Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices

o  Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff members

·        Professional Development:

o  Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies

o  Attend relevant training, workshops, and conferences to enhance legal skills and knowledge

·        Other Duties:

o  Follow company policies and procedures

o  Handle confidential information and materials in a trustworthy fashion

Requirements:

·        Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

·        Admission to the bar in any state (Massachusetts preferred)

·        Prior experience in immigration law preferred

·        Fluent in English and Spanish

·        Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills

·        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·         Ability to work independently and as part of a team

·        High level of professionalism and ethical standards
