Mosaic Companies is seeking a Quality Assurance Lead to join our team in Hialeah. The QA Team Leader is responsible for the management and development of a team to ensure on time delivery of QA activities necessary to uphold the principles of GMP compliance and support the business in line with customer expectations and regulatory demands.



What you will do:


  • Coordinate the Quality Control process at origin by scheduling inspections, reviewing reports, approving, or rejecting shipments based on findings, and leading corrective action plans.
  • Address inventory discrepancies and quality control issues at the warehouse, thoroughly document claims with the factories, and promptly request credit notes when necessary.
  • Create and put in place procedures to make sure that suppliers address and resolve issues effectively. These procedures should be based on audit findings, customer complaints, internal inspections, and other ways of identifying supplier problems.
  • Responsible for overseeing and implementing supplier qualification procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee and continually improve processes that approve and monitor supplier systems, processes, and products. Conducts regular supplier reviews and develops/maintains supplier scorecards to evaluate performance and ensure quality and delivery goals are met.
  • Create strategies to make lasting improvements to quality metrics and understand proactive indicators to anticipate and prevent quality issues in the global supply chain.
  • Ensure engagement in the New Product Development process and strategic sourcing initiatives, Continuous Improvement Process – Sourcing (CIPS) in partnership with business stakeholders to assure that supplier quality is evaluated as a critical component within sourcing processes.
  • Partner with purchasing, strategic sourcing, and logistics teams to analyze, recommend, and execute item resourcing initiatives, reducing risks across the supply chain, and reducing landed cost and end-to-end lead time.
  • Establish agreed Metrics / Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure quality such as Cost of Poor Quality, Defective Parts Per Million, Nonconformance Reports / Incidents, etc.
  • Other related duties and projects are assigned from time to time.
  • Coordinate our team of QC inspectors, paying close attention to their workload and daily performance, ensuring QA activities occur in line with customer expectations and that Quality Indicators are maintained demonstrating regulatory compliance.
  • Provide regular updates to management, highlighting any challenges/barriers or resource constraints that could affect the on-time delivery of the service.
  • Perform regular reviews of completed documents/ checklists produced by the team and filing practices to monitor performance, quality, and consistency.
  • Ensure QA-related documentation is always audit/inspection ready.
  • Continuously consider opportunities for business improvement and be forthcoming with ideas/ suggestions regarding process simplification and improved compliance.
  • Be proactive regarding implementation of such through the generation/revision of SOPs and ensure good engagement with global counterparts to gain agreement (as required).
  • Must be able to travel domestically.


Requirements and skills:

  • Previous work experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies
  • In-depth understanding of technical documentation
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis
  • Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Team player
  • Good analytical skills
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus
  • 3+ years of Wholesale Building Materials experience
  • On-site at Hialeah
