Job Title: Senior Cloud (Azure) Migration Specialist

Location: Camden, NJ

Duration: One year with likely extension

Start: Early December 2024

Role is HYBRID - 3 days onsite required. NO EXCEPTIONS

Candidates Considered: US citizen, GC or H1b accepted.

NOTE: Our client is looking for a Senior Cloud Migration specialist who has a very strong Java Application Development background and experience in migrating applications to the cloud. Their preference is to have someone who has come up through the Application development ranks and understands the migration process as it relates to moving apps into the production phase and Cloud. This individual must be able to discuss at both a High level and also at the development technical level. This candidate will be heavily involved in a collaborative effort with the client. Must have experience in Architecting migrations to Azure.

Consultant must have experience with the below skills

  • Backend - Spring Boot, Rest services
  • Front end - JavaScript foundation (Vue JS etc.)

Consultant will be Architecting the migration of On Prem applications (Oracle DB)

to Azure cloud (Postgres DB)

Senior Cloud (Azure) Migration Specialist - JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our Client is looking to transition it’s On Premise portal to Azure Cloud. As part of this project, they are looking for an experienced and self-directed Senior Cloud Engineer to help their team with this migration. The ideal candidate would use his or her past experience working in Azure to help their team design, build and integrate the cloud environment into our existing development processes.

Senior Cloud (Azure) Migration Specialist- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with solution team to design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud-based solutions.
  • Develop standards, practices, and security documentation for various aspects of cloud operations aligned with department standards and security policies.
  • Planning and adhering to cloud adoption roadmaps.
  • Design and implement cloud deployment methodologies and processes.
  • Design and implement cloud monitoring methodologies and processes.
  • Troubleshooting deployed cloud applications for performance issues and/or application errors.

Senior Cloud (Azure) Migration Specialist -REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong practical Azure experience including, but not limited to: Azure Spring Apps, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Application Gateway, Azure Front Door/CDN, Azure Firewall.
  • Proficient in Azure security practices (identity and role management, encryption, firewalls, etc.).
  • Familiarity with modern cloud application architecture.
  • Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts, design and implementation.
  • Understanding of general security best practices for cloud-based applications.
  • Experience in providing support to production systems, troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
  • Experience with creating documentation on services and systems support processes.
  • Experience in taking Ownership and taking the Lead of Migration projects
  • Excellent collaboration, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work with on-site teams, as well as virtual teams.
