Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Scientist with an Immunology/Immuno-oncology background to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading research studies utilizing our novel LP optical barcoding technology, identifying, and developing new application opportunities, and supporting product development efforts. The ideal candidate will have an excellent track record of scientific rigor and be capable of leading a team technologists and scientists through key research and development milestones as we work to commercialize our technology. Key Responsibilities:
Lead Research Execution:
o Design, plan, and execute research studies leveraging LP optical barcoding technology for immunology and immuno-oncology relevant applications.
o Analyze and interpret complex data sets (flow cytometry, imaging, functional assays), providing insights to guide project direction and technological advancements.
o Ensure high-quality and reproducible results, maintaining rigorous scientific standards.
Application Development:
o Collaborate with the executive team to identify and evaluate new opportunities for application development in immunology/immuno-oncology using flow cytometry, cell sorting and imaging platforms.
o Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes to align research objectives with company goals.
Product Development Support:
o Work closely with product development teams and early-customers to develop and optimize workflows for the commercialization of LP barcoding technology.
o Provide scientific input and validation to ensure product efficacy and relevance to end-users.
Customer Service and Collaboration:
o Oversee the implementation of multi-pass flow cytometry assays as a service for customers, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of results.
o Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, collaborators, and academic partners.
Scientific Communication:
o Prepare and present research findings at scientific conferences, workshops, and within the company.
o Author high-impact publications and contribute to patent applications to protect intellectual property.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
o Doctoral degree with focus in Immunology, Immuno-oncology, Cell Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
Research Experience:
o Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting independent research, such as leading a research group or serving as the Principal Investigator of a grant.
o At least one high-impact publication advancing the field of immunology or immuno-oncology as the first author or corresponding author.
Technical Expertise:
o At least 8 years of experience in single-cell analysis, including extensive knowledge of flow cytometry and single-cell sequencing techniques.
o Proven ability to work with new technologies and solve complex scientific problems.
Skills and Attributes:
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
o Strong written communication skills (scientifical and technical)
o Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities.
o Highly motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
