Job Summary:

The Vice President of People provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organization’s People/HR operations. In collaboration with the Executive Vice President/Chief People Officer, the Vice President is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategies and goals. Day to day, the Vice President will be primarily responsible for supporting all members of the Arbor People team and their functions: compensation, recruiting, staffing, employee engagement, employee relations, and DEIB. This position offers strong growth opportunities.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Develops and implements new and revised policies and procedures to align with the company's goals and competitive practices.

· Determines any strategic additions to the People team to best serve the company size

· Regular and ongoing support for all members of the People team

· Develops, recommends, and presents compensation strategy to executive leadership team.

· Supports employee engagement and retention through a focus on growth and development, recognition and wellbeing.

· Directs and oversees the daily workflow of the recruiting and staffing team.

· Handles investigations, discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.


Duties/Responsibilities:

· Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management.

· Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.

· Focuses on retention and employee engagement across the company

· Provides advice to corporate staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.

· Develops techniques for compiling, analyzing and presenting HR data.

· Provides guidance and leadership to the human resource management team; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.

· Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.

· Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.

· Participates in professional development and networking conferences and events.

· Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s or law degree preferred.

· At least ten years of human resource management experience required and to include compensation, talent acquisition strategy and employee retention experience.

· Eight or more years providing HR leadership to an organization with predominately hourly rate workforce (70% or more).

· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
