Summary of the Lead Fleet Mechanic:

We have been providing Full-Service Landscaping for clients in the North Shore and Metro North area since 1980. We are seeking to hire a dedicated and team-oriented Lead Fleet Mechanic to join our team. The ability to work a flexible schedule in the winter months is required to assist with our snow and ice management team’s mechanical needs.

This position is geared towards growing into a supervisory role as we add to our team. If you are an experienced mechanic with an interest in growing towards a fleet and facilities management role, we want to hear from you

Responsibilities of the Lead Fleet Mechanic:

· Efficiently manage and execute the repairs of our fleet of trucks and equipment to maximize field production, maintain our image, raise proper use awareness, and manage equipment expense lines.

· Manage vendors and/or any outside subcontractor related to fleet.

· Develop, organize, manage, and execute the preventative maintenance schedule for all vehicles, trailers, and equipment to effectively measure service intervals and ensure routine maintenance is performed to prolong equipment life and reduce repair costs.

· Effectively and efficiently manage budgets.

· Perform administrative duties such as but not limited to IFTA, MCS-150, UCR, and IRS 2290 filings.

· Develop knowledge and skills to manage fleet, shop and facilities at a high level.

Skills and Requirements for Lead Fleet Mechanic::

· Experience of automotive mechanical experience and must have your own tools

· Experience working with light and medium trucks, landscaping equipment and trailers, and experience with trailer wiring.

· Valid driver’s license

· Good negotiation skills and vendor management experience

· Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

· Proficient with computer programs, including MS 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

· Metal fabrication and welding knowledge is a plus
