As the Automation Engineer, you'll spearhead the optimization of operations networks, historian servers, HMIs, and web services, ensuring seamless functionality and reliability. Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Lead the programming, design, and troubleshooting efforts to elevate the performance and reliability of our network systems.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to provide expert support in PLC programming, with a focus on Rockwell Contrologix, Compact Logix, and Wonderware operator stations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving network and computer equipment failures, guaranteeing uninterrupted operations.
  • Champion the maintenance and troubleshooting of Wonderware Operator Station systems, including InTouch and Historian, to uphold operational excellence.
  • Drive improvements in Process web services and data storage to enhance overall efficiency and data reliability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, setting the standards for excellence in our automation processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and optimize control systems, ensuring safety, compliance, and productivity.
  • Oversee the commissioning of electrical and automation networking systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Exceed end-user expectations by delivering solutions that prioritize functional effectiveness, long-term reliability, and ease of maintenance.
  • Foster strong relationships with equipment and system integration vendors, ensuring timely deliveries and seamless project execution.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, computer science, or related field, or Associates degree with relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT/OT, network, electrical, and instrumentation, ideally within a heavy/production industry.
  • Highly valued certifications such as CCST and CAP will distinguish you as an expert in your field.
  • Preferred certifications in network, security, Microsoft, and Cisco technologies will enhance your candidacy.
  • Proficiency in process control instrumentation, network protocols, and troubleshooting is essential for success in this role.
  • Expertise in Aveva Intouch, RSlogix programming, Kepware, Windows, Cisco, and Checkpoint will set you apart.
  • Familiarity with traditional programming languages such as Python, R, C, C++, and Java will be a significant advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset are crucial for effectively addressing challenges and driving continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20 to 50%, including overnight stays during critical periods, underscores your commitment to achieving excellence in your role.
