Aquila's Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.
The start date for the position is as soon as possible. The pay rate for the position is $22.36/hour, which is $46,500 over a year when working 40 hours every week. The work hours are 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. The work schedule is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on alternating days. Candidates must be able to work all schedules listed, on alternating days.

Responsibilities include:
- Supervise exercise areas
- Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
- Teach group exercise classes
- Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
- Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
- Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
- Explain all equipment
- Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
- Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
- Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
- Attend staff meetings
- Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
- Perform daily administrative duties
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or in related health/fitness field, OR Active NCCA accredited national fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA or other NCCA accredited certification)
- Active CPR certification
- 0-1 year experience in supervising adults during exercises
- Must be a U.S. Citizen as this is a federal agency that requires U.S. citizenship
