Summary:


The Project Procurement Specialist will be responsible for assisting the company’s project procurement needs along with assisting suppliers to ensure purchase orders are fulfilled to part specific requirements to meet customer & project expectations.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Partner with Project Management, Manufacturing & Engineering to issue purchase orders.
  • Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine if they are compatible with company/project objectives (cost, quality, safety, delivery, etc).
  • Monitors supplier costs, delivery schedules, quality, and conformance to specifications.
  • Surveys marketplace for alternate sources of supply and benchmarks for ongoing projects.
  • Provides procurement guidance on overall procurement strategies.
  • Challenge suppliers on cost, quality and delivery parameters while simultaneously understanding their success parameters.
  • Prepare and review purchase orders.
  • Assist in approving incoming invoices.
  • Assist sourcing, evaluation, and implementation of new suppliers.
  • Share procurement knowledge & best practice across the company.
  • Communicate with project managers, engineering, quality, and manufacturing on any part related issues.
  • Understanding of project specific procurement requirements to assist project execution.
  • Work to identify performance gaps and delays that could be eliminated to save time and costs.
  • Provide companywide feedback on components and expected arrival dates.
  • Understanding of inventory management & stock level replenishment.


Qualifications:


  • BS/BA degree and at least 2 years of previous experience related to position.
  • Exhibits strong communication skills, both with internal and external contacts.
  • Excellent quantitative, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to set priorities and take initiative.
  • 5-10 years of purchasing experience with a focus on procurement and supply chain management.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of subsea industry experience is required, with strong knowledge of subsea operations and equipment.
  • Service industry experience is a plus, particularly in understanding the unique demands and workflows of service-oriented businesses.
