Sourcing and Procurement Associate

Our client—a highly reputable and industry leading organization—is currently seeking an ambitious, smart and dedicated individual to become a Specialist on their Chicago-based team. This individual will be a key member to the organization’s global sourcing, procurement and licensing practice – managing the entire purchasing lifecycle of corporate assets.

This position will be exposed to all facets of vendor management, commercial procurement operations, contract negotiations, and develop an expertise within software/technology. This individual must possess strong organization and communication skills as well as demonstrate the ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop expertise in technology and software service domains to effectively manage vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Lead and manage contract lifecycle – negotiating with external vendors, monitoring and analyzing costs and effectively managing execution of long-term agreements across various IT related categories.
  • Analyze and research spend data on proactive, regular basis. Benchmark against industry standard practices and manage strategic sourcing initiatives accordingly to identify and value potential cost reductions, processes and best practices.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders within technology and software groups; maintain effective relationships to ensure proactive participation in vendor management and supplier related needs.
  • Lead supplier contract management and renewals – leveraging competitive pricing, cultivating relationships with new vendors and driving performance results through KPIs and regular vendor audits.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Previous experience in IT/software sales or corporate procurement capacity
  • Demonstrated capability to negotiate complex contracts with external vendors and service providers
  • Strong business acumen and interest in IT services/software related objectives
  • Ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders; proactive communication and project management strengths
  • MS Office Excel; BI reporting tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
