POSITION OVERVIEW

Alarm.com, a rapidly growing entrepreneurial technology company, is seeking a Regulatory Engineer to join our talented International Product Operation Team. The Regulatory Engineer role is perfect for candidates who want to gain exposure to a wide variety of technologies in the IoT world including wireless communication, video monitoring, smart home automation, web development, and back-end application development and hosting. As a Regulatory Engineer for Alarm.com, you’ll have the chance to develop innovative solutions for our partners and more than 5 million subscribers worldwide.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage international regulatory certification projects for a variety of hardware systems in more than 40 markets
  • Coordinate with test labs for EMC, safety, radio, and other testing of hardware products
  • Working directly with hardware / RF engineers to coordinate equipment and samples for certification.
  • Experience in submissions for official licensing and certifications through relevant compliance bodies
  • Become a subject matter expert on international electronics regulations and liaise with internal teams and external partners
  • Maintain active knowledge of international regulatory trends and standards transitions
  • Assist international market readiness of hardware and feature releases with international parties
  • Assist with project detail data entry and project tracking
  • Support internal teams (marketing, operations, field teams) for internal readiness and assist country release activities
  • Support product operation managers to define product configurations and variants according to country regulations
  • Other duties as assigned


REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably Electrical Engineering)
  • 3-5 years overall work experience (1-3 years experience of regulatory certifications OR 3-5 years of product management)
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for consumer technology and interest in developing a deep understanding of complex products and technologies
  • Strong computer skills, including in-depth experience leveraging project management software; familiarity with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence or similar project management tools.
  • General knowledge of basic electrical engineering principles – experience with wireless systems and EMC concepts a major plus
  • Relevant security industry experience is plus
