Electrical Design Engineer (MEP) - Houston, Austin and Dallas


A very key and well-respected staple in Texas MEP Design is seeking to employ at least one new Electrical Design Engineer to their professional MEP team. The outline responsibilities of this job include creating and problem-solving complex electrical system design, including fire alarm, lighting and power systems that incorporate some of the latest design techniques while adhering to project specifications.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Prepare construction documents appropriate for the project and in accordance with company standards.
  • Documenting and incorporating red lines provided by the engineering staff into project models
  • Coordination with other in-house disciplines
  • Collaborate with architects and other design consultants
  • Monitor project status and development to meet project deadlines
  • Review design budget hours and coordinate any recommended adjustments with the Project Manager
  • Support discipline construction administration activities including preparing responses to request for information and review of equipment submittals.
  • Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, managing links, and historic versioning.


Qualifications


  • Candidates must have experience in the electrical design of building systems such as hospitals, research laboratories, higher education and similar complex facilities.
  • Training with Autodesk Revit and Autodesk AutoCAD is REQUIRED
  • Experience in lighting design and lighting calculations and design of electrical systems is a plus, but not required.
