Responsibilities: Definition of advanced packaging or assembly processes/recipes, and engineering support for wafer processing and assembly. Subject matter expert for polymer processing, bonding, dicing, patterning, dispensing, laser processing and/or wafer thinning. All ASI technologists and engineers are required to be “hands-on” contributors that are capable and involved in wafer processing, assembly and test. This position requires an engineer that can contribute to process improvements, establish and sustain fabrication and assembly operations, and implement improvement approaches and techniques. The Sr. Process Engineer will contribute to developing unique wafer fabrication and assembly processes required to support wafer level chip scale packaging and assembly process technology.


Previous experience: An ideal candidate will have process experience in a semiconductor packaging, assembly or wafer fabrication facility and be familiar with a variety of processing and assembly systems. General semiconductor fabrication experience is applicable and experience with laser patterning, CMP, grinding, WLCSP and/or assembly is most relevant.

Typical Skills and Requirements:

•  7 years wafer level packaging or fabrication experience or equivalent process technology. Experience with polyimides, metal deposition/plating and bonding is highly desirable.

•  Familiar with the use of semiconductor tools, electronics and robotics.

•  Familiar with the use, maintenance and application of wafer fabrication tool systems

•  Familiar with installation, start-up, utilization, application and sustaining capital equipment

•  Excellent communication and documentation skills.

•  Ability to work well with others

•  Project management experience is a plus


Education:

BS or MS in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related area is required.

Compensation: Salary is based on the level of applicable education and experience. This position may include significant stock options for participation in the growth of the company. Medical benefits are part of the total compensation package.
