Role Description

Towards supporting the increasing demand for Nanion’s products, and to provide premium customer service, we are currently seeking to fill the position of Field Application Scientist to be based in Livingston, New Jersey, United States. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for conducting product demonstrations, training customers on instrument operation, providing scientific support, and troubleshooting technical issues. Additionally, the Field Application Scientist will collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to support customer inquiries and product promotion.


Key responsibilities:

  •    Applications support for existing customers
  •    Assay Development
  •    Training of new customers
  •    Product demonstrations
  •    Instrument installations in North America
  •    Participation at scientific conferences and tradeshows 


Qualifications

The applicant must have a MS or Ph.D. degree in biophysics, biochemistry, physiology, neuroscience, or related field, with a background in patch clamp electrophysiology. Experience using automated patch clamp electrophysiology platforms for drug discovery in a high throughput screening environment would be an advantage.


Additional skills beneficial to this position:

  • Knowledge in cell culture techniques, assay development, troubleshooting cell-based assays, as well as experience in technical support and customer interaction
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills and/or public speaking required
  • Language skills required: English, fluent in speech and writing
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Meticulous organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary, multicultural, and team-oriented environment


Must be willing and able to travel (35% overnight) for conferences, customer support and training within North America. 


Salary will be based on experience and qualifications. Candidates must be authorized to be employed in the USA.
