Phlebotomist

Pride Health is hiring for a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility based in Seaside, OR. This is a full-time contract of 3+ months with high possibilities of extension or conversion to permanent and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization

Position : Phlebotomist

Duration : 3+ months with possibilities of extension

Location : Seaside, OR

Shift : 1st Shift, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

Summary:

The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Experience doing blood draws, labelling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
