Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Senior Phlebotomist to join our team at Cynet Systems. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens for testing.
Key Responsibilities- Collect blood and other specimens from patients using various techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
- Label and store specimens according to established procedures to ensure accurate and timely testing.
- Explain the process of blood drawing and specimen collection to patients in a clear and courteous manner.
- Use sterile equipment and follow proper decontamination procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory setting to meet productivity and quality standards.
- Fully understand physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperature and protocols.
- Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, and attend annual department trainings.
- Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
- Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed, as required.
- Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High School Diploma or GED.
