Position Description: We are seeking a Technical Documentation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, gathering, discussing, and developing all relevant and necessary content for project documentation. You will coordinate with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and other subject-matter experts to generate and manage project documentation. Your tasks will include using MS Word and Adobe Acrobat for document creation and publication, tracking progress, managing schedules, and handling project scope.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Development: Identify, gather, and develop content for project documentation by coordinating with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and other experts.
  • Documentation Creation: Generate project documentation using MS Word and Adobe Acrobat for word processing and publication.
  • Progress Tracking: Report and track progress to project management on deliverables.
  • Schedule Management: Manage and prioritize tasks and track project task progress/completion.
  • Scope Management: Identify and pursue an expanding catalog of deliverables for the project.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Excellent communication and note-taking skills for gathering and translating technical information.
  • Enthusiasm for learning technical knowledge in various engineering fields, including chemical, civil, computer, control, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
  • Strong command of English grammar and ability to simplify, clarify, and condense technical information into user-friendly documentation.
  • Effective schedule and scope management skills.

Skills Preferred:

  • Proficiency in MS Visio and MS Project.
  • Experience working with technical and/or project teams.
  • Experience writing technical documents such as procedures, instructions, or guides.
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements, ANSI/ISA standards, EPA regulations, United Facilities Criteria, US Commerce Department Export Control, Siemens PCS7 software, and IBM MAXIMO software.

Experience Required:

  • Experience in assembling and coordinating technical final reporting documents.

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience in industrial procedure development.
  • Experience in developing end user guides.

Education Required:

  • Associate’s Degree.

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
