We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and creative engineer with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.


This position requires the individual to have a well-rounded background with knowledge in mechanical design, motion control, and material properties.The position will require technical leadership from conceptual design, testing, and through production implementation.The prototype volumes we deal with requires a candidate who is capable of thriving in an environment where each project is unique and has the demands of a new design. They must also be capable creating detailed drawings and bill of materials for each new design. If you enjoy problem solving and collaborating with a diverse set of professionals across different engineering groups and business functions then this is the job for you.


Business hours are M-F 8am-6pm.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • product design; including quoting costs and hours associated with building said design.
  • and drafting of optical mounting configurations to yield optimum performance under various environmental conditions.
  • in using SolidWorks for detailed mechanical design.
  • troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise with the first time builds of prototype optical systems.
  • PC skills including MS Office. Experience managing projects from inception to completion, working with a multi-disciplinary team in a fast paced, technically challenging environment.
  • interface with G&H commercial team and customers, as needed, to insure clarity of the information supplied for design purposes.
  • with the assembly, integration, and testing of optical systems.
  • with quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • code creation and bill of material creation inside MRP.


QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing mechanical assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of geometrical tolerancing.
  • Experience with Ansys or SolidWorks Simulation is a plus.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Reviewing, assessing, and creating drawings, specifications, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), technical reports and other documentation associated with design and build of products.


Physical Demands

  • The ability to lift 40 pounds.
