The Healthcare Application Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient functioning of computer systems with healthcare organizations. This position involves overseeing and maintaining clinical applications, including Electronic Medical Records (EMR), practice management systems, and patient engagement platforms. The Healthcare Application Analyst collaborates with various stakeholders, including physicians, nurse practitioners, practice manager, medical assistants, and office staff to enhance clinical workflows and optimize system performance.
Responsibilities:
System Implementation and Maintenance:
- Evaluate and recommend software solutions that align with the organization’s clinical needs.
- Test and implement vendor-supplied systems software.
- Ensure seamless integration of clinical applications.
- Monitor system performance and address any issues promptly.
Clinical Workflow Optimization:
- Understand clinical workflows and processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
- Design and implement changes to electronic healthcare records (EHR) systems to enhance clinical workflows.
- Collaborate with end users to ensure optimal utilization of system features.
Application Management:
Manage PM and Patient Engagement applications, working with users and vendors to provide support.
Maintain application settings in accordance with organizational needs and best practices.
Application Support:
Provide tier III support for EMR.
- Provide exceptional customer support and troubleshoot system issues.
- Provide end-user support during system implementation, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and updates related to Healthcare Technology.
- Maximize user adoption by ensuring users understand and utilize available services to the greatest extent possible to improve their daily workflow(s).
Security and Compliance:
- Maintain system security protocols.
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
- Document all work according to IT standards and change management processes.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with executives and other stakeholders to determine system needs.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Coordinate documentation of system policies and procedures.
- Prepare documentation, including user manuals and training materials.
Ideal candidates for this role will have a Bachelor's degree in health information technology management, Computer Information Systems with a minimum of five years of experience in healthcare IT, clinical systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of clinical workflows and terminology, and experience with EHR systems, practice management software, and patient engagement tools. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and detailed-oriented and proactive approach to problem solving. Proactive, motivated, and takes initiative.
Graves Gilbert Clinic is an independent physician-owned and physician-operated, community driven clinic located in Bowling Green, Kentucky that offers primary care, specialty, and urgent care at locations throughout South-Central Kentucky.
In 1937, G.Y. Graves and J.T. Gilbert forged an unlikely partnership and embarked on a journey the outcome of which no one could have predicted. By 1941, Bowling Green's first multi-specialty group was formed and, by 1969, the clinic housed fifteen of the city's thirty-seven total physicians.
Graves Gilbert Clinic has been dedicated to providing its community with a full range of inpatient and outpatient services. Graves Gilbert is comprised of over twenty-eight locations with 108 providers, 100 mid-levels in 30 specialties delivering primary and specialty care services to communities throughout Bowling Green area.
