The ideal candidate should have experience with AutoCAD Civil3D, be an effective communicator, have strong technical writing abilities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

Responsibilities:

  • Collects, researches, and analyzes project data to plan and execute design.
  • Calculates quantities and opinions of probable costs.
  • Prepares reports, plans, schedules, proposal sections, and specifications.
  •  Prepares project layouts, calculations, design details, and drawing notes.
  • Assists with project coordination.
  • Uses engineering software or other tools to perform engineering design.
  • Visits construction site to observe progress and determine general conformance to the plans and specifications.
  • Assists with review of material submittals to ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
  • Assists with review of test reports to ensure compliance with engineering plans, specifications, and other contract documents.
  • Assists in conducting inspections.
  • Assists in preparing record drawings and other required project close-out documents.
  • Keep the Engineer informed of any communications, project changes, and other important project information.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess understanding of engineering fundamentals pertaining to material behavior and properties.
  • Maintain working relationship with owners, developers, architects, other project team members and clients.
  • Assure quality assurance and control of engineering drawings, reports, calculations, specifications, and other documents.
  • Daily timekeeping and other record keeping necessary to ensure an appropriate and accurate level of billability.
  • Experience in Auto CAD Civil3D, Outlook, and Microsoft Office products. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 1 - 3 years of civil engineering experience related to site design and land development desired
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D desired
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
