Zaino Hall & Farrin LLC is an Ohio-based boutique law firm focusing on multistate and local tax, federal tax, and government affairs. We have an immediate opening for a paralegal position who will support multiple attorneys and non-attorney professionals. Duties will include file and client management; formatting, researching facts, proofreading and editing of documents; time entry; and other administrative support. The ideal candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.  


Job Title: Paralegal/Legal Assistant:

This position performs a variety of administrative and legal support duties and delivers high-quality services to internal and external clients, exhibiting commitment to integrity and excellence. The position requires thorough knowledge of all firm and practice specific administrative processes and procedures, information technology systems, research tools and a broad-based understanding of the clients, matters and associated practices. The scope of responsibilities includes prioritizing, managing and following through on multiple client and firm projects, and communicating effectively, courteously and professionally with clients, attorneys, staff and peers. Critical features of this job are described under the headings below. Ethics

Keeps client and firm information confidential at all times; understands and implements general rules of ethical behavior applicable to lawyers.

Computer Skills

Has basic knowledge of computer operation, internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software; the use of Microsoft products is preferred. Has the ability to type and operate office equipment. Skills to manage email, calendars, contact information, tasks or similar communications activities utilizing systems such as Outlook or manual systems. As well as the ability to manage phone calls, voice mail messages or conference calls. 


Skill Set and Abilities:

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to attorneys, clients and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.


Work Hours

Usual work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (one-hour lunch). Overtime work may be required from time to time.


Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred, and one to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, work experience and training in an office setting.
