HOA Paralegal

Job Title: HOA Paralegal

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HOA Paralegal to support our legal team in managing the legal aspects of homeowners' associations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Texas property laws, excellent research skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, board members, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with the preparation of legal documents related to homeowners' associations, including governing documents, contracts, and resolutions.
  • Conduct legal research on Texas property laws, HOA regulations, and case law.
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are current and accessible.
  • Review and summarize legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Communicate with clients and board members regarding legal matters and provide updates on case status.
  • Assist in the enforcement of community rules and regulations, including the drafting of violation letters and notices.
  • Attend meetings and take minutes as needed, providing legal support to board members.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with state and local agencies.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of changes in HOA laws and regulations in Texas.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in real estate or HOA law.
  • Strong knowledge of Texas property laws and homeowners' association regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certification from an accredited organization (e.g., NALA, NFPA).
  • Experience with community management software or legal management systems.
