Job Description

The Upstream Process Manufacturing Associate will be responsible for executing and optimizing upstream manufacturing processes for biologics production up to 500-1000L scale. The candidate will have extensive experience with fed batch culture using Thermo HyPerforma Bioreactors and Delta V and will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient and compliant manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Execute and optimize upstream process operations, focusing on cell culture activities including media preparation, seed train, bioreactor seeding and harvest.

- Monitor and analyze process parameters, troubleshoot the operational issues to maintain a high standard of product quality.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Development, to support technology transfer and process scale-up activities.

- Ensure adherence to cGMP regulations and company SOPs, maintaining meticulous documentation and records for process operations.

- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process robustness.

- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering an environment of learning and professional development.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

- 5-10 years of experience in upstream biologics manufacturing within a CDMO or similar environment.

- Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience with Thermo HyPerforma System or equivalent and other upstream technologies.

- Strong understanding and experience with  cell culture techniques, bioreactor operations, and fermentation processes.

- Demonstrated experience with cGMP compliance and documentation practices.

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, innovative, and dynamic work environment.
