We are seeking a skilled Process and Instrumentation Technician to join our biomanufacturing team. This role combines technical expertise in instrumentation with an excitement to work in the fast paced biomanufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing process equipment to ensure efficient and compliant operations.

Full-time opportunities at Capra Biosciences come with: 

·       $25-30/hr salary

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of process instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and actuators.
  • Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and process equipment issues to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Install, configure, and commission new instrumentation and process equipment.
  • Monitor and control biomanufacturing processes, making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal conditions.
  • Generate and maintain detailed documentation of equipment maintenance, calibration records, troubleshooting activities, and process parameters.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Adhere to strict quality control and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a technical or vocational certificate in instrumentation, process technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in instrumentation and process control in a regulated industry, preferably biopharmaceutical or similar.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level measurement.
  • Proficiency in calibration equipment and software.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Metalworking, Fabrication, or Similar
  • Experience with Sanitary Welding is greatly preferred
  • Experience with bioprocess equipment, automation systems, and process control systems.
  • Knowledge of GMP regulations and quality systems.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and process control software.
