The Role:

The Associate Director of Influencer and Talent Marketing will be integral to the day-to-day execution and success of JOAN Studios’ influencer campaigns and talent initiatives. This hands-on role requires deep involvement in campaign strategy, talent sourcing, contract negotiations, and end-to-end campaign execution. Working closely with internal teams, clients, and influencers, you will ensure all projects are executed flawlessly, aligned with strategic goals, and foster strong relationships between talent and brands.

With a deep understanding of how influencer strategies align with broader brand and business objectives, you thrive in managing the intricacies of campaign execution while driving creative excellence. You’re skilled at building meaningful relationships with creators, influencers, and their teams. Whether it’s guiding the team through a complex campaign or troubleshooting challenges on the fly, you bring a blend of creativity and structure to everything you do.

Beyond supporting ongoing influencer and talent programs, you are a resource across the agency, contributing to new business opportunities, strategic ideation, and cross-department initiatives. You’re excited to support the growth of a new team from the ground up, balancing day-to-day execution with innovative thinking to elevate JOAN Studios’ influencer marketing capabilities.


Your Skills and Experience Include:

  • Strong expertise in influencer marketing strategies, platforms, and trends.
  • Proven experience in managing campaigns from inception to completion.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with creators, managers, and agents.
  • Experience with influencer contracts, budgets, and compliance.
  • Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and education.
  • Demonstrated success in problem-solving and troubleshooting during campaigns.
  • Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members.


Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Management:

  • Lead and inspire influencer managers (IMs) and coordinators (ICs) in the planning, execution, and management of campaigns.
  • Provide strategic guidance for campaign briefs, influencer selection, and deliverable coordination.
  • Collaborate with internal teams during brainstorming sessions to align creative concepts with functional influencer strategies.
  • Oversee the identification, vetting, and negotiation of contracts with influencers, ensuring alignment with brand, legal, and industry standards.
  • Support budget management, including influencer fees and fulfillment costs.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve campaign challenges, providing creative solutions and preventive measures.
  • Develop and refine operational approaches to improve team efficiency and scalability.
  • Run small-scale influencer campaigns autonomously from start to finish.

Client Management:

  • Serve as a day-to-day contact for account teams with support from IMs, ensuring smooth communication and campaign updates.
  • Assist in resolving client concerns and identifying opportunities for deeper engagement with influencers.
  • Collaborate with clients to align campaign strategies with their business objectives and KPIs.
  • Support discussions on upsell opportunities and scoping for ad-hoc client requests.

Team Management and Agency Collaboration:

  • Partner with the Influencer Director to foster a positive team culture, encouraging open communication and collaboration.
  • Address performance issues proactively and support the implementation of corrective actions as needed.
  • Act as a bridge between creative, account, and strategy teams to integrate influencer initiatives into larger brand strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Influencer Director to educate and expand influencer marketing expertise across the agency.
  • Advocate for influencer marketing within the agency and contribute to its integration across disciplines.

New Business Development:

  • Assist the Influencer Director in building proposals and strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Source and present influencer options during pitches and proposal processes.
