Laboratory Technician

Under the direction of scientists and technicians, the contractor is responsible for supporting microbiology based activities. Under supervision, the contractor is expected to perform routine and non-routine tasks including but not limited to ordering supplies, cleaning and organizing lab areas, performing manual liquid transfers, growing microbes, quantify microbial growth, storing and retrieving samples from freezers and shakers. The ideal candidate needs to be able to collaborate closely with the Microbial Discovery technicians and scientists and complete tasks under their supervision to ensure effective day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will be attentive to detail and will maintain excellent documentation. Good communication and time management skills are essential to this role. Prior experience in microbiology or related field is required. Prior experience using aseptic technique is required. Prior experience with automation is a plus.
