Data Center Quality Assurance/Quality Control Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the intermediary between the general contractor, OEMs, and the project management team, ensuring installation activities meet quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the General Contractor (GC), vendors, and the project management team for all QA/QC matters.
  • Obtain and review testing laboratory reports, taking action for non-compliant results.
  • Collaborate closely with the GC to develop, distribute, and close out all items in the Pre-Substantial Completion Punchlist.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of all required project close-out submittals and warranties.
  • Advocate for site safety and collaborate with security, IT, project engineering, and other internal groups to maintain project goals.
  • Coordinate and review contractor/vendor performance related to equipment installation, networking, and energization strategies.
  • Oversee and improve project timelines, participate in communication plans, and engage in community involvement with support from Data Center Operations and Data Center Services.
  • Report directly to the Director of Field Operations, supporting the strategic and tactical delivery of AI data center projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation via the NCR process.
  • Coordinate with installation contractors and OEMs to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality checks of installation work, identifying defects and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Provide guidance, support, and training to installation personnel on QA/QC requirements, best practices, and compliance measures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of QA/QC measures, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders to address QA/QC issues and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Document and report QA/QC findings, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
  • Compile and archive all job data upon project completion.
  • Monitor the delivery of items from major vendors and subcontractors.
  • Embody our organizational culture and values.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field AND 10+ years of related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet security screening requirements, including passing a specialized cloud background check upon hire and every two years thereafter.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field AND 12+ years of related experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience working on data center projects.
  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining effective quality control systems in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Field experience in overseeing construction site work activities.
  • Knowledge of construction health and safety practices.
  • Familiarity with project plans, specifications, shop drawings, samples, and testing for quality control management.
  • Understanding of administrative and management principles involved in project planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination.
  • Proficiency with construction industry software and the ability to create and administer new NCR documentation programs.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing teams and large budgets.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams and manage equipment coordination, delivery, and turnover processes.
