A Correspondent-Clearing broker/dealer located in the Miami, Florida metro area is seeking a Manager/Director of Risk. The successful candidate will be responsible for oversight and implementation of the clearing firm’s client risk program. The role will involve everything from risk policy creation to daily implementation. In addition, candidates will work with multiple departments fulfilling additional roles.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are typical for this job position. Incumbents may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

  • Develop and implement risk management procedures
  • Analyze client risk profiles and trading strategies and implement appropriate risk parameters
  • Monitor intraday and overnight client risk exposure
  • Identify critical areas of risk and take decisive action
  • Evaluate overnight risk-related reports
  • Oversight of client trading limits and controls to ensure risk levels are consistent with firm policy
  • Assist operations staff with other tasks as necessary
  • Monitor multiple risk and client trading systems on a constant intraday basis
  • Evaluate new risk systems or client trading systems as necessary
  • Work with clients and vendors to establish and test new execution venues
  • Review and test risk systems on a periodic basis to certify adherence with firm requirements


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong risk, trading, and operational system competencies
  • Experience with electronic trading tools including risk and order management systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to analyze and take decisive action
  • Ability to multitask and work with multiple internal departments
  • High level of proficiency with spreadsheets and/or database programs such as SQL or MYSQL
  • Understanding of liquidity and stress testing theory, familiarity with VaR, monte carlo, Greeks, and/or other simulation criteria, and ability to model stress the scenarios
  • Understanding of broker/dealer operations
  • 5+ years of experience with equities trading risk management
  • Experience with broker/dealer clearing services preferred


License or Certification Requirements


  • FINRA Series 24 required
