Senior Estimating Manager Role:

The Estimating Manager/Senior Estimating Manager is tasked with overseeing the preparation of estimates throughout the entirety of the bidding process until bid close-out. Responsibilities encompass reviewing specifications and drawings, coordinating and facilitating quantity take-offs, planning means and methods, creating schedules, pricing all direct and indirect project costs, soliciting and evaluating subcontractors and suppliers, and finalizing bid documentation. This role also includes comprehensive management of all aspects related to estimates, including overseeing Design-Build and Joint Venture pursuit strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generating meticulous and timely proposals and estimates for projects in both private and public sectors across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.
  • Assumes leadership in guiding teams through the process of formulating initial project plans and developing detailed project execution schedules.
  • Examines a variety of alternative solutions and construction methods in order to improve the competitiveness of bids submitted by the company.
  • Translate conceptual designs, project drawings, CPM schedules, and technical specifications into comprehensive cost estimates with accurate forecasting. Utilizes HCSS HeavyBid and other estimating tools.
  • Fosters and sustains collaborative relationships with Joint Venture partners, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and cooperation throughout.
  • Recommending selection of projects for bidding, the Snr Estimating Manager must supervise the estimation process to guarantee the submission of a competitive and profitable bid.
  • Visit project sites to evaluate the advancement of diverse company projects, participate in project meetings, and conduct site investigations as necessary.
  • Directly reporting to Vice President, Estimating


Additional Skills and Abilities:

  • 10+ years of advanced experience in both construction project management and estimating, specializing in complex project environments.
  • 5+ years in a supervisory or management capacity within the heavy civil industry, with comprehensive experience spanning the entire project life cycle from initial estimate through to project completion and closeout.
  • Demonstrated track record of securing profitable large-scale heavy civil construction projects (exceeding $50 million) in the competitive market.
