Role Summary:


The Global Finance Manager will utilize their skills as a finance professional to partner with Compass Group sector and account site leadership to lead our Compass at Google regional finance teams in contract management and compliance. The role will implement strategic thinking, deep financial understanding, exceptional communication, and the ability to influence without direct authority. The successful candidate will ensure financial and invoice consistency per contract terms, support audits, implement governance processes, manage commercial contracts, and provide GAAP guidance for compliant reporting. The Global Finance Manager will report to the Compass at Google CFO, and will be a member of the global leadership team. You will have the opportunity to inspire and lead specific financial aspects of the business.



The great things you’ll do:


Regional Finance Support:

  • Collaborate with regional teams to address and resolve financial matters
  • Support audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses
  • Assist in rolling out new processes and systems for enhanced governance, client contracts, and billing

Financial Governance and Compliance:

  • Ensure all financial practices align with GAAP and other regulations
  • Provide expert opinions on complex accounting issues
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures for global operations

Contract Management:

  • Review and support the execution of commercial contracts in collaboration with legal and regional teams.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Maintain a centralized contract document repository.
  • Provide guidance to regional teams on contract interpretation and implementation.

Process Improvement and Systems Implementation:

  • Lead initiatives to improve financial processes and systems across regions.
  • Support the implementation of new financial systems and tools.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of financial processes and recommend improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work closely with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on contract terms and objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to understand local business needs and challenges.
  • Build strong relationships with regional finance teams and other key stakeholders.
  • Influence and engage others to achieve financial objectives and drive change.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on contract performance and compliance.


What we look for in a great candidate:


  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • MBA / CPA designation
  • Ability to motivate and work collaboratively with business partners, key team members, senior management and client groups on various projects and initiatives
  • Ability to handle and manage multiple projects and work streams
  • Ability to set and communicate timelines, roles and responsibilities to multiple stakeholders and hold them accountable for deliverables
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Hands on, detail-oriented with ability to see the big picture
  • Remains balanced in a fast-paced and changing environment, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and information effectively
  • Thrives in ambiguous environments and is results driven
  • Ability to partner with cross-functional finance and operations teams
  • Excellent skills in G-Suite & Microsoft applications
  • Familiar with common analysis tools will be a plus, such as Python and SQL


Essential Qualifications:


  • CPA
  • 10 years of experience in a senior finance role, with a strong background in global finance operations
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards
  • Proven ability to influence and engage others without direct authority
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with financial systems implementation and process improvement initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
