Job Overview:


The International Franchise Association (IFA) seeks a coordinator to support the organization’s communications team and external visibility. The position will field incoming media inquiries, monitor news coverage and compile/distribute news clips, draft newsletter and member communications, manage media lists, and support for IFA’s social media content and website management.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the communications’ team media outreach including fielding incoming press inquiries, managing press lists and databases, and researching outlets and reporters
  • Manage content on IFA’s website – including creating new content and updating existing content
  • Draft social media content to support communications’ campaigns and government relations efforts, including basic graphic design and video creation
  • Compile and distribute daily news clips
  • Create and manage IFA’s content calendar, in coordination with IFA’s marketing team
  • IFA event support, including photography, video visuals, social media, and follow-up communication


Qualifications:


  • 1-2 years experience in communications, journalism, government relations, or other trade association work (internships included)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Understanding of public policy fundamentals and quick ability to grasp complex concepts
  • Strong research abilities
  • Excellent time management and organization
  • Understanding of social media platforms and willingness to stay on top of trends
  • Video and graphic design skills for advancing public policy goals and storytelling
  • Digital advertising and/or social media management experience
  • Experience working with Cision, WordPress, Photoshelter, Canva, Photoshop, Constant Contact, MailChimp, and Microsoft Office tools


This position will report to the Vice President of Communications. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
