The Safety Personnel Manager is a leadership position within the Safety Services Division is responsible for the overall recruitment, management/leadership, and direction of Tailing Project Safety Advisors on multiple construction related projects, including logistics, pay communications, and retention. This position is the main Project Safety Advisor contact within Tailing. This position, at times, and in a Project Safety Advisor capacity, will act as emergency coverage on Client projects. The Safety Personnel Manager shall lead by example and uphold the values of Tailing. The position reports to the President of Safety Services.


Role and Responsibilities

· Support both the VP of Operations and President of Safety Services as needed.

· Lead with a Client-first work approach in words and actions, while also adapting and supporting individual Tailing Project Safety Advisors.

· Proactively build and maintain lasting positive relationships and resolve issues with Project Safety Advisors.

· At times, and with short notice, be prepared to cover Client projects and/or act as emergency coverage in a Safety Advisor capacity.

· Manage assigned projects and support Project Safety Advisors.

· Review Safety Advisor Weekly Activity Reports.

· Review and ensure training and onboarding (drug and background check) is complete prior to project Safety Advisor mobilization. In addition, maintain communication with VP Safety Services to ensure Client Contract and/or Tailing Safety Proposal is completed prior to mobilization.

· Complete pre-project administrative paperwork and submit to Tailing office (internal Advisor rate sheet) and Safety Advisor (Advisor external rate sheet, site location, site contact, weekly activity report template, etc.) in a timely manner to ensure Client invoicing and Safety Advisor’s start is not delayed.

· Provide technical safety assistance to Safety Advisors.

· Capable of identifying future potential Clients as well as opportunities with existing and past Clients and communicate that information to VP of Safety Services.

· Assist in the preparation of proposals and marketing materials.

· Schedule and conduct video or phone calls with potential new Advisors, new hires, and existing staff. For interviews, video calls are highly encouraged.

· Meet Safety Advisors in person when necessary and within driving distance from your location.

· Attend Client meetings when necessary.

· Present to clients when necessary.

· Participate in networking functions when necessary.

· Represent company in each Client and Safety Advisor meeting.

· Support accounting in monthly billings as needed.

· Return calls and emails within 24 hours of receipt.

· Other duties and responsibilities to be assigned as competency in role is shown.


Qualifications·

-Should possess a bachelor’s or master's degree in safety, construction management, engineering, or have extensive experience.

· Must possess 5-10 + years of field safety experience.

· Must have highly proficient written and verbal communication skills.

· Must have high sense of urgency, self-motivation, compete level, Safety Advisor and Client dedication.

· Must be able to manage multiple projects/Safety Advisors at a high level of proficiency and have excellent follow up skills with all stakeholders.

· Must be positive and professional.

· Should have or will attain the BCSP – CHST, OHST, ASP, and/or CSP certification.

· Should be proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with electronic safety auditing tools.
