Mechanical Drafter

Job Title: Mechanical Drafter

Location: Kenosha, WI

Industry: Manufacturing (metal assembly)

Status of Hire: direct placement; permanent

Pay: $65k - $75k

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare calculations on the proposed machine before completing technical drawings
• Sketch and draw up designs using input from engineers on the team
• Calculate factors like tolerance and dimensions
• Create designs in line with company procedures and client standards
• Submit drawings for team approval and production teams
• Use customer feedback and data to upgrade, improve or repair the company's existing product
• Provide support during the production and installation process, ensuring that the product is built properly and according to design specifications
• Finalize designs and send prints to the production department

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 2+ years' experience in Design role or related experience
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Extensive CAD knowledge AutoCAD Inventor preferred
• Strong computer and analytical skills
• Experience designing industry parts machined and sheet metal, assemblies and products with CAD
• Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change
• Able to work in a team environment
• Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative
