S. T. Hudson Engineers, Inc. has a unique opportunity for a entry level driven Marine Environmental Scientist/Specialist looking to take the next step in their career to be a part of our leading Marine Sciences / Impact Assessment and Permitting Team based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
Reporting to the Director of Environmental Services, you will be part of a high performing and dynamic team renowned for delivering best practice marine environmental impact, site investigation, project management, report preparation, and permitting services for all phases of our clients' projects from approvals to construction and operations.
This position will provide you with an opportunity to further develop your career with client exposure and a greater level of responsibility. Working both independently and collaborating with members of multidisciplinary teams, you will gain exposure to a diverse array of high profile projects across a range of sectors including oil and gas, ports, and harbors. You will work amongst a team of experienced peers and alongside our clients, while learning first-hand from our in-house senior advisors and technical leaders.
We are looking for an entry level through experienced marine scientist/specialist who with be responsible for on-site wetland delineations, preparation of NJDEP, PADEP, and DNREC permit applications including wetlands, waterfront development, water quality certificates, CAFRA, as well as Federal applications to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineering and preparation of reports including local, state and Environmental assessments.
You will also be responsible for key project related tasks as required, which may include development and implementation of technical studies and assessments, data analysis, technical writing and presentations.
You will at time be asked to perform field sampling and logging of soils from vessels as part of a vibracoring team, and will spend some time in field performing assessments and investigations.
Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline (e.g. Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Sciences or similar with a Marine Science or Biology major)

· Attention to detail a willingness to take on new challenges and think innovatively to solve challenges you may encounter
· Salary and duties commensurate with level of experience
· Site investigations, permit applications, client/project management and report preparation.
· Demonstrated client focus – Client and Project Management
· Familiarity with tristate area waterways
· A sound understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory requirements for coastal marine developments and dredging.
