Fast-growing Dallas-based consulting firm has an immediate 12+ month contract-to-hire opportunity for a Business Analyst. This position requires working onsite in Downtown Dallas five days per week. The Business Analyst will be responsible for interfacing with customers and internal stakeholders, managing project timelines and deliverables, gathering and documenting business requirements, and ensuring they convey the voice of the customer in everything we build into our software. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate individual looking to develop a meaningful career and not just a job. The ideal candidate will work closely with the business, partners, and development teams. It is essential for this individual to have strong communication skills, both in conveying technical concepts and providing guidance to team members. This role is designed for a dynamic individual who is a multi-tasker and can work in a fast-paced, cross-functional agile environment. Being in the office during working hours is crucial to successfully collaborating with the project team members. Success in this position will lead to a permanent role within the organization.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst.
- BS in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with at least 2 of the following applications:
- UKG – HR & Workforce Management
- iCIMS – Applicant Tracking Software
- Deltek VantagePoint – ERP for professional services
- Microsoft Dynamics – CRM
- Experience working with both Waterfall and Agile software development teams.
- Ability to use modern documentation and task tracking tools, e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, or other sprint planning tools.
- Strong awareness of the latest technology trends.
- Reputation for creativity, flexibility, versatility, and problem-solving.
- Creative thinker with a vision and attention to detail.
- Ability to see the big picture throughout the product development process.
- Strong experience in gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Hands-on experience working with both development and business management teams.
- Thorough understanding of the SDLC.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Experience creating business process flows, data flows, requirements, communication plans, and training for business applications changes and releases.
What You Will Be Doing
- Gather and document business requirements.
- Write user stories and lead refining sessions with your team.
- Interface with external customers to understand their web-based application needs.
- Partner with Product Managers to manage the backlog and prioritize product defects and new features.
- Act as the liaison between the technical team, the external customer, and product management.
- Partner with Quality Assurance by writing acceptance criteria and working with the team to execute.
- Work closely with the Lead Architect to outline development needs.
- Possibly participate in presentations to customers.
- Participate in all Scrum ceremonies – sprint planning, daily standup, story refining, backlog refining, sprint demo, and ensure team adherence to the product roadmap.
