Job Title: Senior Business Analyst (with P&C Insurance experience)
Work Location: Hartford, CT (Hybrid – Onsite)
Required Experience: 10 years
Technical Skills:
- Senior Business Analyst from Insurance Domain with P&C Background
- Should have working experience in Scrum Master role
Responsibilities:
- Document business requirements functional and nonfunctional utilizing a variety of methods and artifacts e.g., writing use cases user stories creating process flows etc.
- Develop and execute a requirements attainment strategy for new projects
- Engage stakeholders to elicit requirements and facilitate discussions as needed
- Help manage changes in requirements as work progresses through the application development lifecycle
- Verify that proposed solutions meet the needs of the business
- Track project status deliverables and assist in the completion of software documentation and training material
- Responsible for providing production support triage as needed coordinating validating changes with vendor systems and contributing to team’s efforts or other activities as assigned by manager that maybe required
- Assist with the development of test strategies writing and executing functional test cases developing test execution plans assessing defect severity providing a status of testing activities and driving defects issues to resolution
- Will provide regular coaching and mentoring to other members of the Business Analysis team as well as the broader IT organization when appropriate
- Improve business acumen as it pertains to the insurance industry and or develop functional domain expertise within IT related disciplines e.g., project management business analysis and quality assurance
- Enables and helps those outside the Scrum Team development team understand which of their interactions with the Scrum Team are helpful and which aren’t
- Helps everyone change these interactions to maximize the value created by the Scrum Team
- Understands product planning in an inspect and adapt environment and ensures the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value
- Provides information regarding team health people process progress and overall satisfaction to Technology and Business Leaders
- Coaches the team members to practice effective Scrum
- Removes impediments for the team and escalate appropriately
- Insulates Scrum Team from distractions or disruption
- Extensive knowledge in Insurance Domain with P&C Background
Soft Skills:
- As this is an onsite role must have strong written and oral communication and presentation skills translating complex data findings into actionable insights is a crucial skill
- Highly motivated with a proven ability to work on own initiative within a challenging work environment
- Strong team player with good organization planning and leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills including influencing skills
- Exceptional presentation business writing and professional standards
- Good analytical diagnostic and creative problem-solving skills
