CAFCU is a member-owned, not-for-profit credit union with a mission to become the primary financial institution for our members. Our Senior Marketing Representative helps provide a voice for our organization’s vision: To make a meaningful difference in the financial lives of our members. 

 

This is a remote position that may require occasional visits to our corporate headquarters in Elgin, Illinois, our Chicago-area branches, our partner company sites, and local community events. 

 

Here are this job’s primary responsibilities: 

  • Create fresh and engaging social media posts, videos, webinars, and long-form content for the CAFCU website, social media accounts, company intranet, and other communications platforms. 
  • Own and manage CAFCU’s official social media channels within the boundaries of company social media policy and procedures. 
  • Work closely with other departments to support their sales and strategic initiatives.  
  • Help develop, design, and distribute routine and special external and internal communications.  
  • Support the Marketing Team in planning, executing, and tracking strategic marketing campaigns and initiatives with an omnichannel approach. 
  • Use analytics tools to track the efficacy of content and social media efforts so results can be communicated to aid in decision making. 
  • Coordinate promotional programs and projects in compliance with federal and state laws and in accordance with the credit union’s policies and procedures, all while nurturing CAFCU’s brand, creed, vision, mission, and goals. 
  • Help build a vibrant credit union brand that fulfills its mission to empower members’ financial success.

  • You know the difference between a comma and a semi-colon, understand what a run-on sentence looks like, and know how to use a hyphen (bonus points if you've followed Associated Press style AND prefer an Oxford comma). 
  • You are skilled at using AI tools to generate information and ideas for content while knowing how to shape that content to have a unique human voice. 
  • You can work independently while also being ready and willing to support your team at a moment’s notice. 
  • You are at ease working in Canva and also understand the basics of Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Planner, Adobe Creative Suite, and other cloud-based project and content management tools. 
  • You hold a B.S in marketing or a related field and/or at least two years’ experience in content marketing and social media management (experience within the financial industry is preferred).
